About me

Têtêvi Koffi alias KOFFI T. was born in 1982 in Lomé where he did his primary and secondary studies. During his schooling, the man showed his love for art. In 2003, while still a student, he won the first national prize for "portrait drawing" organised by the Comboni Missionaries in Togo. In 2004, he enrolled in the "Sessimé Arts et Couleurs Décor" training centre with the aim of sharpening his talent as a visual artist. At the same time, martial arts also entered the arena with a 1st Dan black belt in Taekwondo. In 2006, he participated in a group exhibition of the NATA Togo association at the Espace 54 cultural centre. Four years after his entry into the "Sessimé Arts et Couleurs Décor" centre, he was awarded a training certificate in Visual Art and advertising. And the race for the design of paintings and other posters bearing the label KOFFI T., his artist's name, has just begun. As the world is changing, art is following the same dynamic. This evolutionary trend pushes him to open up to other colleagues with whom he collaborates. Thus, from 2010 to 2011, he perfected his skills at the Ayéva Médjéva centre. Apart from his profession as a visual artist, Têtêvi Koffi is not in the logic of allowing altruism, a virtue that is part of his being, to sink in. In 2011, he participated in the training workshop for peer educators and apprentice supervisors. With this training, he is still in the field for sensitizations on HIV/AIDS in particular and health in general. At the same time, his activities as a visual artist continue. In 2011, he participated in the group exhibition of the Ayéva Médjéva centre. In the same year, he was counted among the exhibitors of the "Territory of Creation" organised by the Cercle de Réflexion Culturel, groupe de Lomé (CERECUL) at the Goethe Institute in Lomé. From 2012 to 2015, he did not miss a single opportunity to be granted, at each edition of the international festival of drawings of Togo, festival called "Mine de Crayon", the participation diploma of the association "Or Noir". In 2012, his creative genius was put to good use in an exhibition called "From Advertising to Art". KOFFI T. showed that commercial signs can be turned into art. The following year, Word Shop Boulevard, a performance exhibition that took place in Lomé under the theme "Togo in colours", includes the creations of the visual artist. His meteoric rise continues. In 2014, he participated in the residency "Territoire de Création" 4th edition at Agora Senghor followed by an exhibition at Goethe in Lomé. ASTAP Show is a performance exhibition organised every quarter from 2015 by the Association Togolaise des Artistes Plasticiens (ASTAP), an association to which the visual artist is a member. In the same period, KOFFI T. was asked by the Comité de Réflexion et d'Action pour la Promotion des Droits de l'Homme (CRAPH) to exhibit at the Centre Culturel Filbleu AREMA as part of the World Africa Day celebrated on 25 May each year. In 2015, he participated in the group exhibition African Art Fair organised by Beautiful Art at the Joseph Gallery, Paris. And in 2017, he participated in the 8th Francophonie game. In 2020, he is the laureate of the FAC In 2022, he participates in the 3rd Edition of the Crossroads of Visual Arts. To become a great Visual Artist, to build a training and exhibition center for the benefit of the young Visual Artists, to be in collaboration with the other National and International Visual Artists, such is the guiding thread of KOFFI T's career.
